Itinerary:

  • Day 1: Drive To Pokhara– On the first day, you’ll drive to Pokhara via the Prithvi Highway. The distance to Pokhara is roughly 210 km from Kathmandu, and you’ll reach there in 7-8 hours. You’ll stay the night at Pokhara.
  • Day 2: Pokhara to Bans Kharka– Firstly, you’ll drive to Galeshwor Dham from Pokhara. It is 86 km away from Pokhara. From there, you’ll start your trek past a suspension bridge on the Kaligandaki River. After three hours of trekking, you’ll reach Bans Kharka.
  • Day 3: Bans Kharka to Naangi– As you head to Naangi Village, the trek ascends slightly. You can stop at a nearby village for lunch. After 5-6 hours of walking, you’ll reach Naangi village. You can explore the settlements and local factories around this place.
  • Day 4: Naangi to Mohare Danda– The final ascent to Mohare Danda will be longer. On this day, you’ll walk roughly 7 hours. The route will be ascending and perhaps a bit exhausting. From the top, you’ll see the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains of this region.
  • Day 5: Mohare Danda to Deurali– On this day, wake up early to witness the beautiful sunrise. Also, you can glimpse the mountains from the top. After enjoying the morning views, you will head to Deurali. The trail ascends and descends continuously. You’ll stay overnight at a lodge in Deurali.
  • Day 6: Deurali to Ghandruk– With a total walking duration of 6 hours, you’ll reach Ghandruk Village. A famous Gurung village where you can immerse yourself in Gurung culture and fantastic mountain views.
  • Day 7: Ghandruk to Pokhara– A total trekking distance of 3 hours will get you to Kimche. Along the way, you’ll cross Modi Khola. From Kimche, you will take a bus to Pokhara, where your trek will end.

Some Practical Information:

  1. Best Time to Trek: Autumn and Spring are the best times to trek in this region. The mountains are clearly visible around these times, and the weather is pleasant. September to November and March to May are the most suitable months.
  2. Permits: To trek in this region, you’ll need the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and (TIMS) Trekkers’ Information Management System card. You can obtain these cards at Pokhara or Kathmandu.
  3. Packing Tips: Good trekking shoes and warm clothes are the most essential packing items. Carry first-aid kits and medicine in case of an emergency.
