  1. Tourist Visa: This is probably the most popular visa type in Thailand. It is valid for up to 90 days. The fee for a Thailand tourist visa is around 20,000 Nepalese rupees. Any ordinary Nepalese passport holder can easily apply for this visa.
  2. Thailand Business Visa: This is a bit different from the ordinary tourist visa of Thailand. With a processing time of 10 days, this visa costs just over 43,000 Nepalese rupees. You need to have a passport that is valid for at least six months before it expires. It has a validity time of 90 days.
  3. Visa On Arrival: You cannot get a visa on arrival for Thailand as a Nepali citizen. However, if you are from an eligible country, you can get a visa upon arrival in Thailand.
  4. 90-Day Immigrant Visa: This is the most flexible visa type for Thailand. It allows Nepali citizens to visit Thailand for specific reasons, such as Education or visiting a family member. This visa allows Nepali citizens to open a bank account for their convenience. You can also apply for a work permit.
  5. Thailand Residence Visa: This visa is for individuals wanting to stay in Thailand for more than 10 years. The criteria for this visa are a bit complicated, and you need extra documents to apply for this visa. This visa is eligible for individuals with sufficient funds in their account.

How To Apply For The Visa:

Nepali citizens can easily acquire a Thailand visa if the documents are correct and all the eligibility requirements match. It is advised to apply for the visa well ahead of your trip. This gives you plenty of time and can prevent any unforeseen problems. You must visit the Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu. Here is a step-by-step guide for the visa application process:

  • Acquire and verify all necessary documents: First and foremost, you need to acquire all the required documents and check whether your passport is valid for up to six months from the date of departure. You may also need several supporting documents for the application process.
  • Fill out the application and Schedule an appointment: Complete the Thailand application form correctly. Once you’ve completed it, schedule an appointment to submit all your documents to the Thailand embassy or consulate. You can also email the documents online.   • Receive your visa from the embassy: The Thai government will accept or reject your application once the embassy has thoroughly reviewed your documents. You will be informed if your visa has been granted, and then you can collect your visa from the Thai embassy.

The Thai Government can reject your visa in such cases:

  • Incomplete or False Documentation: The Thai government can reject your application if your documents miss bank statements, travel itinerary, and proof of accommodation. Your application will also get rejected if your documents are incorrect or fraudulent.
  • Insufficient Financial proof: Applicants must demonstrate strong financial stability, which is usually done by showing an adequate bank balance. If you are unable to demonstrate financial stability, your visa application might be rejected.
  • Criminal Record or poor travel history: Any past criminal record or involvement in illegal activities can result in rejection. Your chances may be affected if the applicant has a poor travel history in previous countries, like overstaying.
  • Unclear Purpose of Travel: If the intent of travel is unclear or vague, your application might get rejected. So, be sure to state clearly your purpose for traveling to Thailand.
  • Health Concerns: The Thai government also considers infectious diseases or health issues that may affect public health in Thailand.

  1.  A valid visa that has at least six months of validation.
  2. Three copies of recently taken passport-size photos.
  3. A bank statement with a minimum of Nrs 100000 balance. (This applies to first-time travelers)
  4. Trip’s Itinerary with a hotel booking.
