Located near the Shankharapur entrance, this is a less-known place among hikers but is equally accessible as some of the popular hiking destinations in the region; this place is a must-visit.

There are many routes to Manichud Daha, but the most popular and accessible is the Gagalphedi-Manichud route, which takes 2-3 hours to complete. Located on the outskirts of Kathmandu, this place is less well-known to people. The road condition is moderate. It can be slippery between the roads from Jorpati to Sankhu as it’s partly pitched. Along with its natural beauty, the area is steeped in local legends, which add a mystical allure to the experience.

PIA Park

Situated in Lele, a small scenic valley, is a park constructed by PIA (Pakistan International Airlines) for the 167 people who lost their lives on flight PK-268. The flight took off from Karachi and was headed to Kathmandu on September 28th, 1992. Small settlements around the park are inhabited by locals. Lele can be accessed from Kathmandu, which is located 20 km from Kathmandu.

Upon entering the park, you will be greeted by a path adorned with vibrant green grass and a well-maintained cemented walkway. Inside the park, the names of the dead passengers have been inscribed in a circular shape with openings on the lower and upper ends. Two guards, paid by PIA, look after this park. The park also has toilet facilities and sitting space.
