The National Botanical Garden in Godawari is located on the foothills of Phulchowki Hill. Mount Phulchowki, at 2715 meters, is one of Kathmandu’s most famous hiking destinations. The garden, founded in 1962, covers an area of 82 hectares and is visited annually by more than 190,000 people. The botanical garden showcases diverse flora, including exotic plants and orchids. The Phulchowki Hill offers walking trails, picnic spots, and educational exhibits, making it an excellent destination for nature lovers. Popular among botanists and anyone seeking a peaceful escape from the busy Kathmandu City.

From the hilltop, the Chandragiri and Kirtipur regions are clearly visible. The entrance to this park is completely free. The highest elevation of this park is around 1830 meters.

Balaju Park

Balaju Park, also known as Baisdhara, is a scenic park located near Balaju. This place is easily accessible from central Kathmandu. It is a place where visitors can escape the chaos of daily life and immerse themselves in a peaceful and serene environment. There is a beautiful garden, a variety of trees, ponds, and a temple inside Balaju Park. Baisdhara houses a replica of the famous Budhanilkantha temple.
