Itinerary

  • Day 1: Kathmandu-Dhap: On the first day, you will start your journey from Kathmandu. After driving for 8-9 hours, you will reach Dhap (2850m). On this day, you can enjoy a scenic countryside drive from Kathmandu along rivers like Tama Koshi and Dudh Koshi. You can stay overnight at Dhap.
  • Day 2: Dhap-Jhapre: On this day, you will follow the trail along Phokte Danda. This day’s trek is not too strenuous, with gentle ascents throughout the day. After walking for 6 hours, you will reach Jhapre, where you can stay overnight.
  • Day 3: Jhapre-Pikey Peak Base Camp: On this day, you will ascend the Lhamuje Danda from Jhapre. The steep ascent can make this day’s trek a bit challenging. But it is still manageable. You can reach the base camp after crossing a mini stone wall. You will also cross a cheese factory before you reach Pikey Peak Base camp. You can stay overnight at the base camp.
  • Day 4: Trek to Pikey Peak: On the fourth day, you need to wake up early to trek to Pikey Peak for awesome sunrise views. You can also view Everest, Numbur, and Kanchenjunga from the peak (4065m). On the same day, after spending time at the top, you should return to Lamjura Danda. Stay overnight at Lamjura Danda.
  • Day 5: Lamjura Danda-Junbesi: On this day, you will descend to Junbesi from Lamjura Danda. Today’s trekking trail intersects with the Everest Base Camp trek. After descending for a few hours, you can see more established tea houses and lodges. You can stay overnight at Junbesi.
  • Day 6: Junbesi-Phaplu: On the sixth day, descend along the Junbesi Khola. This day’s trek is not too strenuous. You can leisurely complete this day’s trek. In the evening, you will reach Phaplu town.
  • Day 7: Phaplu-Kathmandu: On your trek’s last day, you can fly from Phaplu to Kathmandu.
