Nagarkot is one of Nepal’s most famous tourist attractions. Situated 2100 meters above sea level, it is a popular hill station near Kathmandu. Easily accessible from Kathmandu, Nagarkot offers beautiful panoramic views of the Himalayas. Located 32 km from Kathmandu, Nagarkot also offers numerous hotels and homestays for perfect accommodation. This is also the starting point of our hike.
Dhulikhel, the ending point for our hike, is another equally famous tourist destination. Situated 1600 meters above sea level, this place is famous for outstanding panoramic views of the distant Himalayas. The numerous cultural attractions, the beauty of the traditional lifestyle, and the green vegetation make Dhulikhel an ideal place to visit to show what Nepal can offer.

We drive one hour from Kathmandu to Nagarkot, the beginning point of our hike.
We begin our hike towards Dhulikhel from Nagarkot. This is mostly a descent-oriented hike.
We head towards Changunarayan Temple. The trail is not too strenuous and we can enjoy the scenic beauty around this place.
We reach Changunarayan temple around half way through the hike. We make a stop here and rest for a bit. We can also walk around the temple premises.
After making a brief stop, we head towards Dhulikhel. The trail from this point is a bit challenging.
Two hours of walking will lead upto Dhulikhel, an ancient town with rich cultural heritage and scenic beauty. We explore this town and enjoy some pre-packed snacks.
After an hour, we finally head back towards Kathmandu. This drive should take 1.5 hours. We enjoy the scenic countryside roads.
We finally reach Kathmandu ending our joyful day hike.
