This day hike is a shorter version of the Phulchowki hike. It starts at the National Botanical Garden in Godawari, Lalitpur. Chapakhaarka is a small yet beautiful village in the Lalitpur district, bordering the Kavrepalachok district. It is one of the most famous paragliding spots in Kathmandu.
Introduced in 2007, paragliding has become one of the highlights of Chapkharka, a small hilltop village in the Bishanku VDC. The hike’s starting point is easily accessible: You can reach Godawari in less than an hour from Kathmandu. This is a comparatively shorter hike.
This hike takes you through the same trail as you would take for the famous Phulchowki hike. The trail is strenuous at some points, but the serene landscape around this place makes it worthwhile. We’ll only ascend for 2–3 hours for this hike as it is significantly shorter than the Phulchowki summit.
