At 2128 meters, the Nagarjun hike is one of the most popular hikes around Kathmandu. The hike starts behind the Swayambhu stupa and ends in Jamacho Gumba, the summit of the Nagarjun hill.
The surroundings of this place are stunning, with green hills covering the entire region. The name Nagarjuna is dedicated to the mediator Nagarjuna. This place is known for its peace and tranquil surroundings. With growing interest from the youths, there are many people hiking to Jamacho Gumba on a regular basis.
Although the trail is relatively short compared to other hikes, it is considered tough due to its steep ascents. This place is a perfect spot for a weekend getaway, which will refresh one’s mind and soul.
Jamacho Gumba, also known as Jamacho viewpoint, has some of the best views of the distant Himalayas. There is a slim chance of us spotting a wild animal along the way, as the National Park has many species of mammals. The route is well-marked, making it easier for hikers to navigate the trail.
